Every iteration of the LittleArm has been attempt to make technology more fun and accessible to students in the classroom who have an interest in STEM. The LittleArm and LittleArm 2C are great for kids in grade school and large classrooms, but as a student ages, the arms become less "cool." We know that we have to keep the technology and the potential interesting and apparent as kids grow older and start thinking about careers in high school and college. We know that we have to scale up. So we have designed, and will release very soon, the LittleArm BIG. The BIG is the 3rd generation of the LittleArm and it is aimed at advanced robotics students and makers. With 5 degrees of freedom and a gripper the BIG is almost identical to the most advanced industrial arms in use today. Now kids can see the true practicality of robotics at a scale that is meaningful and also experience the limitations and capabilities of high articulated robot arms. We will release more details soon. But the BIG will be 3D printed and it does run on Arduino. The first preview and demo video is below. Let us know what you think.
