Hey Everyone, After a year of getting feedback from teachers and working with hundreds of students that have used the robotics kit, we have redesigned the LittleArm. Check out the preview below to see the LittleArm 2C. We think that it is the best arduino robot arm kit created. It will become available in 2017.

Here are a couple of tools for training the LittleArm Arduino robot arm. It is easy to train the LittleArm arduino kit. But the issue comes when you need to get repeatability. The arm will move to the exact same place every time. But if anything in the environment changes then it will not do what you expect. In factories robot arm ar put into very controlled situations where everything is always the same, because the arm can't tell when something changes. So we have created a "Training Sheet" and some special blocks just so new users and students can understand how the robot works. The training sheet details where to place the arm and either several dice or blocks so that they are always in the same location. Then the arm can be trained and nothing will ever change. The blocks have special depressions in them so that they are easier to grab. These are also a good design to introduce kids to 3D printing. They can learn about overhang, and ahesion, and scaling. The blocks are exactly the size of dice when printed. Kids can measure their prints and compare to real dice to see if them printed well. Hope these help a few teachers with their robotics curriculum. ![]()

There are many arduino robot arms out there. But here is a list of arduino robot arm that are under $150. But the main issue that have is that few come with with the electronics to make it run. The LittleArm is the only arduino robot arm that actually comes with an arduino. LittleArm Arduino Robot Arm - $95 The LittleArm is an Arduino STEM robot kit for hobbyists and students to learn robotics and progrogramming. Anyone can train the robot arm using the desktop application, regardless of experience. The LittleArm has a broad support ecosystem maintained and grown by its user community. Due to its highly versatile nature, as a robot arm, and unique capabilities for education the LittleArm is used by STEM schools all over the US, and is even utilized by organizations such as STEMBus USA. The LittleArm is an ideal robotics kit for beginners or advanced hobbyists. It provides a means to explore robotics, engineering and programming to a degree that no other robot kit can offer. MeArm Arduino Robot Arm - $50 The MeArm is a laser-cut robot arm that is a decent robotics kit with a lot of parts. But while the kit is very affordable it does not come with an arduino.
Sainsmart Palletizing Robot arm - $140 The Sainsmart arduino robot arm is one of the largest arms on this list. But despite its price it does not come with an arduino.
Sainsmart Palletizing Robot Arm Version 2 - $100 The Sainsmart arduino robot arm is another large arm. But despite its price it does not come with an arduino. It also has little to no software support so it is difficult to get the arm moving.
Arduino Robot 6 DOF Aluminium Clamp Claw Mount kit - $38
This Arduino robot is very ungainly. It can not reach very far with much weight. It also have no arduino and almost no software. - Rotation angle of 180 degrees - Radius of gyration: 355mm - Height: 460cm (holder closed) - Clamp Max open is 55mm - Holder of the widest distance: 98mm - The Kit without servos( In this clamp claw kit, you'd better use MG996R servos for the joint bears larger force, while MG995 servos for joints bears relatively smaller force.) - Color: Silver We have upgraded the Desktop GUI application for the LittleArm arduino robot arm. Here is what we did.
We have launched a new verison of the Android app to control the arduino of the LittleArm. The LittleArm app now allows recording and is better laid out. If you would like to connect a bluetooth module to the arduino of your LittleArm here is the wiring diagram. Note 1 : A larger power supply (6V 2-3 amp) is reccomended to reliably power the arm at start-up and at high speeds. The original LittleArm power supply provides only 1 amp. Note 2: While many tutorials (including this one) show how to connect a bluetooth to the Arduino without any extra components there is a danger that the module can be damaged. A safer way to connect the Blutooth module to the arduino is shown below.
